Sprays of small scarlet flowers in summer Dark green leaves with pale green marbling Evergreen perennial Excellent groundcover plant Sprays of small scarlet flowers on slender stems float like bright clouds above mounds of dark green leaves with pale green marbling. Heuchera ‘Coral Forest’ makes a fantastic evergreen groundcover plant for sun or partial shade. It’s also ideal for pots, small spaces and low-maintenance gardens.
Sow indoors Sow on the surface of pre-watered seed compost, in pots or trays, lightly pressing into the surface. Place in a propagator or bag at around 20°C (68F) in shade and allow 2-6 weeks for germination. Remove lid or bag and keep in cooler, brighter conditions after germination.
Grow on Transplant when seedlings are large enough to handle. Grow on in a sheltered spot outdoors, such as a cold frame or unheated greenhouse. Plant out Plant out in full sun or partial shade in well-drained soil and water in well.
Aftercare Deadhead to prolong the flowering period- this may produce a second flush later in summer. Clumps maybe divided in autumn every 3 years.
